We live in a digital age, so why do I offer prints?
If you've read my portfolio page, then you know that I photograph and edit with memories in mind; I want you to look at your photographs fifty years from now and be drawn back into the details of the day. So, let's consider, in 50 years will technology be the same? Will storage and access to digitals be what they are today? Not likely. But observing framed images on your wall, flipping through a photo book, or taking your time looking at the individual prints that tell the story of a moment in time....that has and will continue to stand the test of time, especially if they are printed with future generations in mind.
It is for this reason that I offer printed products for sale and supplement with web resolution galleries for each of my clients. I am 100% behind having the capacity to share your images with family and friends, but it is the long term preservation that drives me. As such, I utilize a professional printing company who prints on heirloom quality paper, with heirloom quality ink.
Delivering these printed images is one of my favorite parts about being a photographer. Handing beautiful packages to my clients, then watching their faces light up as they unwrap and view their treasured moments in print….gah, it’s just the best. And knowing that, some day, their grandchildren or great grandchildren might look at those images as they try to imagine the lives of the familiar strangers in them...it just moves me.
My hope in writing this, is to share my heart behind my business model and to cast vision for what your images could be to your family.
It is my sincerest desire to serve you and your family...for generations to come.
